Aeolian Pianola - 1927 - Fully Restored - As New Back
Upright Pianola, originally manufactured by the Aeolian Company of London, has been meticulously and professionally restored to its former glory and tuned to concert pitch. The piano action was rebuilt at the same time as the player action.

The restoration / complete rebuild entailed:

Pneumatics
  •  stripped down and assessed the condition of all player action parts
  •  replaced all the tubing
  •  reconditioned the bellows and the pneumatic coverings
  •  individually cleaned the valves and pouches

      Piano action
  •  stripped down and assessed the condition of all piano action parts
  •  fitted all new strings (equivalent of grand piano)
  •  cleaned and re-fitted all of the keys
  •  refurbished the hammers
  •  replaced all of the felts on the hammers and keys with new ones

    • Furniture
  •  the original mahogany casework was restored and painstakingly French polished using traditional methods to a beautiful finish (a very time-consuming task)
  •  the piano action back-board has had gilt paint applied to it to look like new
  •  the pedals have been cleaned and polished
  •  all screws and hinges have either been cleaned or replaced with brass ones
